I am Sorry But You dont Have a Soul
Participative performance, 2016
The man on the street is a dualist
– Jean Paul Sartre
I am sorry, but you don"t have a soul is a participative performance in which I invite people to sit down with me, one by one, and to talk about existence of soul while drinking rakija (Serbian kind of very strong schnapps). After a small talk and their presumption about existence of a soul, I am giving them reductionist arguments (from philosophy and cognitive science) against existence of a soul in Cartesian sense, showing them possibility of interaction between rakija and "the spirit" which is governing both my and their behaviour, slightly changed because of alcohol consummation. The consuming becomes crucial for the argument and the performance itself.
